There will be no fireworks on Sept. 17, but next Monday is just as important a day for the United States as Independence Day. On Sept. 17, 1787, the Constitution was signed by 39 men representing the 13 former colonies as they sought to form “a more perfect union.”James Michael Valenti, J.D., LL.M., Esq., assistant professor of criminal justice at Finger Lakes Community College, will give a free lecture Monday, Sept. 17, to mark the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. The lecture, titled “The Third Branch: The Judiciary,” runs from noon to 12:50 p.m. in Room B440 on the fourth floor of the main campus at 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua.Visitors should leave time for parking as the college is in session. General parking is available in the main lot in front of the building or the Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center lot. Handicapped parking is available at the front and back of the main building.
