FLCC students share vocal, instrumental music at Winter Festival

Five Finger Lakes Community College student ensembles will give instrumental and vocal performances at the Winter Festival on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in the college’s new auditorium.Entry is free. The auditorium is on the second floor of the FLCC Student Center, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua.The Guitar Ensemble, directed by Mark Arnold, will perform “For No One” by Lennon and McCartney and “El Gato Montes” by Manuel Penella, among other works. Student performers are Denzel Lee, David Bartholf, Daril Corsner, Nathan Chamberlin, Dustyn Setzer, Jake Devisser, Vince Arambarry, Kirk Adams, Jesse Ambrose, Felicia Baker, Sean VanDerwerken, Sean Doohan, Stephan Shoaf, Bryan Spencer, Joe Young and Jake McCoy.The Chamber Wind Ensemble, led by Brett Long, will share works by Mozart and Haydn that Long has arranged. Student performers are Anna DiDomenico, Bryan Kaiser, Taylor Rissler, Nicholas Mastrolonardo, Steven Rossi and Jonathan Weaver.The Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Maria Gillard, will sing works that include an arrangement of the jazz standard “Autumn Leaves” and Irving Berlin’s “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm.” Singers are Kenny Arionus, Nathan DeBrine, Caitlin Hartman, Carley Herb, David McCurry, Melissa Oleniuk, Amanda Phelps, Justin Rhody and Taylor Rissler. They will be joined by accompanist Bob Barbuto, drummer John Meeske and bassist Jameson Dunham.The Percussion Ensemble, directed by Jillian Pritchard, and the College Singers, directed by Ines Draskovic, will also perform.
