The Magic Johnson proposal is on the LBA website:

While media and others portray this as a done deal, there are questions. This bid paysNOTHING for the land.
Also, the 2 meetings below are open to the public, and must by law have public commentat the end.
1. Land Bank Authority meets in Lansing, Thurs. 9/20/12 @ 2 PM. Attending this is important, as they may try to push through the MJ/JF bid, unchanged and unchallenged. Modifications to the plan CAN include the MI State Fair 1X/year, an expo, park, education and recreation component. The LBA has the authority, according to their own RFP, to modify and/or drop certain requirements. Bidders can work with other bidders. The buildings, the old growth trees, the historical markers, etc. CAN be kept, if the bidders work to that end. Our coalition would push for MG/JF to work with other concerned parties, bidders and investors.Public presence at this is SO-o-o-o-o important.
2. State Fair Advisory Committee, Detroit, Fir. 9/21/12, 10 AM @ Cadillac Bldg. 4th Floor. Many unresolved questions and issues with the LBA and the process, plus trying to fulfill function or community, etc. input.
